People e-mail me all the time, asking or commenting about my comical experiences of living on the "prestigious" Wilshire Corridor.

Prestigious?  It's a zoo!

Here's the latest Condo-drama!  A receptionist retires after 14 years of working at the front desk to "return to her country." Although I'm uninterested in her departure, I wish her well.  Under my door I find a "Donation Request" letter from my building as a "going away gift" for her departure!

As a comedian, I say to myself: "If I decide not to write a column anymore should VJ readers take up a donation for me because I decide I want to quit?  Immediately, my Criminal Justice instinct kicks in and something doesn't seem Kosher.

What employee 'allegedly' leaves America to go back to their corrupt country AND accepts donations from homeowners after QUITTING only to return to 'help' out an old lady?  Valid question, yet again, I'm basically disinterested.

Until today:  I'm now VERY interested.

I find out that one of the elderly tenants who befriended and trusts this former employee is letting her  'help her' and is allowing her to MOVE IN to HER UNIT with her teenage kid. The unit is right next door to me!

OY!  It's Condo-Drama!  Last week, we had a burglary!  Closing sentence on Notice reads: "Thankfully, no one was harmed." Great. I feel safe, now.

The regular zoo is still going on:  The Persian/Cholo neighbor on the first floor with the loud rap music. The nocturnal "furniture moving insomniac" upstairs neighbor and now I have to wake up with a former employee of the building next door with her kid under the guise of 'health aide!' Remember, this is after she quit her position, accepted donations and claimed to be leaving the country.

HELLO?  ANYBODY HOME?Sunda Croonquist

Don't get me wrong; I like her...as a worker.  However I don't want to live with my former employees... EEWW!

I don't need any more drama. Who knows what kind of new set of visitors will be parading on my floor!

VJ readers: do take this information to heart! We should all consider the elderly who become dependent upon people who may not have their best interests.  Thank G-d my grandmother didn't have to give out her keys and trust strangers to check in on her.

It's easy to be taken advantage of when you're elderly and alone. Let it be CLEAR that I'm not saying that THIS is the situation but if you leave a job at a BUILDING and accept 'going away donations' it's my belief that you should stay gone.

Visiting is one thing but moving in?  I'm not paranoid...I'm profiling!

Know an old person who lives alone? Visit that person. Check in and see if he/she is okay or you may find an entire family squatting under the guise of 'caring.'  I don't feel a sense of Tzadakah here. I see a new sitcom called: "Good Last Will (and Testament) Hunting!"

I will keep you all informed as the drama unfolds and remember to VISIT AN ELDERLY NEIGHBOR! Stay tuned to VJ! Where Sunda has the 'Hoodzpah! To tell you like it is and like it was... Call the locksmith!
