Terror Threats: One from Yemen, the Other from a Jewish Liberal
There were two terror threats over the weekend.
One came from Yemen in the form of sophisticated bombs--targeting Jews, naturally--disguised as toner cartridges.
The second terror scare, and to me much scarier, was the guest appearance by Yusuf Islam, formerly Cat Stevens, at the Jon Stewart--formerly John Stuart Liebowitz--rally.
Liebowitz/Stewart introduced Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens as "Yusuf," leaving out the Islam part. Was this because Liebowitz/Stewart abruptly realized that Islam might have, y'know, a few negative implications, such as mass murder, honor killings, the oppression of women, the mutilation and murder of homosexuals and of course, religiously sanctioned Jew-hatred.
Liebowitz/Stewart got around all that unpleasantness by improvising a one-name intro, sort of like Cher, Madonna. or Yanni.
Cute. And a totally liberal Hollywood solution.
During the Bush years, Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens was on the no-flight list, forbidden to enter the United States. But under Obama, no problem.
Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens is not some peace-loving hippie troubadour. He is a radical Islamist who endorsed the Ayatollah Khomeini's death sentence fatwa on writer Salman Rushdie, in 1989.
Here's a clip from the BBC program in which Islam admits to supporting the fatwa:
Robertson: You don't think that this man deserves to die?
Islam: Who, Salman Rushdie?
Robertson: Yes.
Islam: Yes, yes.
Robertson: And do you have a duty to be his executioner?
Islam: Uh, no, not necessarily, unless we were in an Islamic state and I was ordered by a judge or by the authority to carry out such an act--perhaps, yes.
Robertson: Would you be part of that protest, Yusuf Islam, would you go to a demonstration where you knew that an effigy was going to be burned?
Islam: I would have hoped that it'd be the real thing.
Leibowitz/Stewart glides past all criticism by saying that he's just a comedian.
But this is just a coward's way of avoiding responsibility.
In fact, the clownish, high school level rally tells us all we need to know about modern liberals.
When Liebowitz/Stewart invites a murderous jihadist to share his stage he is legitimizing terrorism, and of course mainstreaming the malignant Jew-hatred that is at the heart of Salafist Islam.
No wonder the Democrats are going to get crushed in tomorrow's elections. Not only are their economic policies ruinous, but they are habitual appeasers and enablers of evil.
