Occupiers and Ethnic Cleansers Gain Support from British PM Cameron

The Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Erdogan, who has allied his country with Hamas, Hizbullah, Syria and Iran, recently vowed that:

Kurdish rebels who seek autonomy from Turkey will drown in their own blood.

Sounds pretty extreme.

In fact, it almost sounds like Erdogan is promising to commit genocide against the Kurds.

This is a threat which should be taken seriously. Let us keep in mind that it was the Turks who practically invented modern genocide with the systematic mass murder of approximately 1.5 million Armenians.

Thus, when British Prime Minister David Cameron recently delivered a speech in Turkey, you would think that he would, at least, recognize in Erdogan, an incipient genocider--part and parcel of radical Islam. And make no mistake about it, Erdogan is radical Islam, wrapped up in a nice clean suit, and Turkey is on its way to becoming another cruel Islamist state.

But Cameron, in craven appeasement mode, said:

Let me be clear: the Israeli attack on the Gaza flotilla was completely unacceptable. And I have told Prime Minister Netanyahu we will expect the Israeli inquiry to be swift, transparent and rigorous. Let me also be clear that the situation in Gaza has to change. Humanitarian goods and people must flow in both directions. Gaza cannot and must not be allowed to remain a prison camp.

Cameron has improved Neville Chamberlain's policy of appeasement with old-fashioned Jew-hatred in the guise of political discourse.

But it is Turkey who are the true occupiers, jailers, and ethnic cleansers. Does anyone know or even care that Turkey occupies a large chunk of Cyprus?

Just on the north side of the Attila Line that partitions the island of Cyprus, the ghost city of Varosha (a suburb of Famagusta) is surrounded with barbed wire.

In 1974 the Turkish military invaded and carved up the island. Greek Cypriots in the north were forced to move south side of the line. Turkish Cypriots from the south were forced to move north. Greek Cypriot citizens in Varosha fled the Turkish invasion in terror. They expected to return to their homes within days. Instead, the Turks seized the empty city and wrapped it in fencing and wire. They forbid anyone from entering it to this day.

Within two days they [Turkish troops] had taken Famagusta. The Turkish air force bombed the helpless town. The entire Greek population, fearing massacres at the hands of the invaders, fled south. Meanwhile, Turkish tanks rolled onward until Turkey had conquered half the Cyprus capital of Nicosia. There it erected a wall running through the center of the city.

The wall of occupation does not attract "solidarity" protesters or leftist professors from the West. They are too busy denouncing and attacking Israel for building a security fence around Jerusalem, a fence to keep the Palestinian suicide bombers from murdering Jewish children. No Rachel Corries go to Nicosia to defy the Turkish occupation army. They know they would instantly be jailed in a typically barbaric Turkish prison.

Turkey insists that Palestinians be granted statehood and "self-determination" while refusing to allow Turkish Kurds, Armenians, Assyrians, Greeks, Bulgarians, Azeris and others to exercise any of it, even in the form of limited language autonomy. While Arabs living in Israel enjoy levels of freedom a hundred times better than do Turks living in Turkey, the Turkish government continues to denounce Israel for its alleged suppression of Arab "human rights." On the very day that Turkey recently murdered 120 Kurds, it denounced Israel for committing "war crimes."

Appeasement meets radical Islam. British PM Cameron with his new BFF Erdogan.

Daniel Pipes reminds us that:

Turkey's invasion of July-August 1974 involved the use of napalm and "spread terror" among Cypriot Greek villagers, according to Minority Rights Group International. In contrast, Israel's "fierce battle" to take Gaza relied only on conventional weapons and entailed virtually no civilian casualties.

Cameron's grotesque political posture is analyzed by Melanie Phillips:

Why did Cameron ignore the evidence of the markets full of produce in Gaza, the restaurants, the Olympic-size swimming pool? Was this ignorance or malice? Why did he ignore the fact that Israel allows hundreds of tons of supplies across its border with Gaza every week?

Has Cameron even looked at a map? Does he not know that Egypt has a border with Gaza which it keeps far more tightly sealed than does Israel? If Gaza is a prison camp, why did he not condemn Egypt for making it so but singled out only Israel?

Of course, this is evidence of Jew-hatred, when Cameron--echoing the blood libels of the international left--repeatedly singles out Israel for condemnation to the exclusion of all others.

Why didn't he condemn the severe travel restrictions on Palestinians imposed by Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon? Why didn't he condemn Lebanon for denying Palestinians living there the right to own property, qualify for health care, or work in a large number of jobs? And while we're asking, what about Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of the Palestinian Authority, who reportedly begged Obama not to lift the Gaza blockade? Why didn't Cameron condemn him too for seeking to maintain Gaza as a 'prison camp'?

Why did Cameron utter no word of condemnation of Hamas for its exterminatory rocket and human bomb attacks on Israelis? Or does he think that to condemn Hamas is also to show prejudice towards the Religion of Peace? Why, if he really thinks Gaza is a prison camp, did he make no condemnation of the Hamas for throwing Gazans off the tops of buildings, using Gazan civilians as human shields and burning their children's holiday camps down to the ground?

In the next paragraph, Phillips finds the pulse of those who scapegoat Israel/Jews:

I have said it before: Israel is the litmus test of decency in political discourse. Those who attack Israel are invariably on the wrong side of the global fight to defend civilisation against its destroyers. Not just because of Israel's place on the geopolitical map. It is because the animus against Israel is based on a wholesale repudiation of reason and the embrace instead of irrationality, bigotry, lies and moral inversion. Defence becomes attack, victim becomes victimiser, right becomes wrong; and vice versa. It is the deranged discourse of Islamic fanaticism and of the Israel-bashing left that marches beneath its black banners. And now it is Cameron's discourse too.
