Americans who moved to Israel alone and serve in Israel's military will attend a Thanksgiving dinner in Jerusalem.
The American Jewish Committee will host a full Thanksgiving dinner Thursday at its offices in Jerusalem for about 30 lone soldiers from several different Israel Defense Forces units.
It is the 9th consecutive year that AJC has hosted the meal "as a means of saying thank you for answering the call to serve and protect the people of Israel," according to the organization.
A seat at the table will remain empty in honor of captured soldier Gilad Shalit, who has been held in Gaza for the last five years. via jta.org
