Initial reports stating that Steven Spielberg was going to direct and produce the Wikileaks film" after purchasing movie rights were not entirely accurate.
The statement was clarified today when a rep confirmed that while Dreamworks did in fact purchase the movie rights to two books on Wikileaks and Julian Assange, at this point, there is no script for a WikiLeaks movie, no writer, no director, and no producer.
Spielberg who runs Dreamworks, may or may not pick up the film in the future.
The two books purchased by Dreamworks are Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World's Most Dangerous Website and WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War on Secrecy.
Spielberg is currently directing three films slated for release in 2012.
