It's been a busy week for the paparazzi in Israel.
Columbian superstar, recording artist Shakira, arrived in Israel despite pleas from a pro-Palestinian group on Facebook to cancel her visit for the sake of "humanity."
Shakira arrived in the Holy Land with her boyfriend, Spanish national football team star and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.
Upon landing, the couple and their posse immediately scuttled off to Jerusalem to visit the Western Wall, the Holy Kotel. Both Shakira and Picque prayed at the wall.

Shakira, a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador, was in Israel to promote a global education campaign. The star attended Israel's third annual President's Conference on Tuesday and delivered a plea for children's education worldwide, before visiting a joint Israeli-Arab school in Jerusalem.
Shakira stated that the Holy Land was the "perfect place to talk about how urgent it is to invest in education." She said: "The most crucial decision we can make for a better tomorrow is how we educate our children. How wonderful it would be if the world would act like a team. We have so many challenges ahead of us, so many problems to solve. "This is the time to behave like a team, to wear the same T-shirts and to win the match of discrimination, to win the match of inequality and segregation."
The singer, who has Lebanese heritage and speaks Arabic, opened her comments with a "Shalom" and accepted gifts from the children who approached her. One girl presented Shakira with a necklace passed down through eight generations of Yemenis, a gift from Peres who referred to the singer as "an ambassador for peace."

The same day in which Shakira arrived in Israel, another celebrity of a different variety showed up for a visit.
Jewish comedian, Sarah Silverman, landed at the Ben Gurion airport, not long after Shakira did, only without the large posse and the grand entrance.

Silverman, who is known for her envelope-pushing humor, and extreme raunchiness, arrived in sweat pants and gave a big smile as she waved at the paparazzi.
Silverman is in Israel to play a show in Tel-Aviv this weekend, and was also invited to speak at the Presidential Conference.
Of course, Silverman has another reason to visit the homeland. Her sister Susan is a liberal female rabbi living on a kibbutz in the Negev.
