Yet another connection to Judaism comes out of the National Basketball Association.
Earlier today, NBA superstar LeBron James had a business meeting with Rabbi Yishayahu Yosef Pinto, according to TMZ. Known as the 'business Rabbi to the stars,' Pinto sat in on a meeting in which LeBron listened to presentations from several retail executives. James reportedly paid the Rabbi, who speaks only Hebrew, a six-figure salary to attend the meeting with him as a business consultant.
Sources involved with the meeting tell us the Miami Heat star had hired Rabbi Pinto for spiritual guidance for a "big merchandising meeting" that took place on a private yacht somewhere off the coast of NY.
News of James' meeting comes on the heels of Amar'e Stoudemire's revelation of a possible Jewish ancestry, and an odd exchange with Shaquille O'Neill where he inexplicably spoke in Hebrew for what seemed like no apparent reason.
Could this be a move by these players to bring more spirituality into their lives? If it is, they're certainly looking in the right place!
