Mom, You are right, but my words of anger only should have made it clear, that Mel Gibson should no longer be accepted in the movie business, a business where he could find a possibility to influence people in bad and evil ways... I will never forgive !!!!!!!

Chris...it is OK to forgive but never to forget. Forgiveness will release you from feeling angry, which does harm you physically, emotionally and spiritually. If you continue to feel anger then I believe you have allowed Mel to control you...and I am pretty sure you do not want that. Hashem has punished him over and over again because of his demented soul. He, like Hitler, no matter how many confessions he says, will never make it to the kingdom of heaven.

I remember Mel when he was a doting father and husband taking his wife and children on the various movie sets wherever he traveled. His wife of many years never knew him to be abusive. He has Jews in his employ . One cannot work in Hollywood if one is an anti-Semite. It\'s my personal belief that his alcohol addiction has progressed to a point that it has affected his life and personality negatively. Alcoholism is a DISEASE,so let us look on Mel as temporarily ill and pray for his recovery....encouraging him to use his great talent for good.....which is his aim. He has a GIFT. We should encourage him to use it.
I\'m sick of all the bashing he has endured and the constant tirades against him. Let him be....and forgive his actions which he would never have committed....and things he never would have said, were he sober. Please ...let it REST! mel

If you try to use the NT to win friends and influence people, you will get the Bible/OT quoted back at you, as you have already learnt. If you try to defend Mr Gibson, you may be dragged down by association. You have a gift far greater than his. Nurture it, and leave your pal to fight his own battles. Forgiveness

I agree with Rabi Marvin Hier, it is a fact that if I want forgiveness, I need to confront myself with my actions, and knowing that I have erred or willingly failed somebody, or either sinned against God and or somebody. I can not ask my kids to confront God or anybody to ask for forgiveness, that is my obligation.
Mr. Gibson is an excellent director, but I believe that Satan and his ego are taking the best of him, and his alcoholic addiction do not help; God is more than willing to forgive him and forget his sins.
