Why was the Second Temple destroyed? Because of unwarranted hatred! Talmud, Yoma 9 Our sages tell us that because of "sinat chinam" (unwarranted hatred) the Temple was destroyed, and with with "ahavat chinam" (unwarranted love), the temple will be rebuilt!
