We went shopping at Machaneh Yehuda, the
big Jerusalem Shuk (open-air market) in search
for the seven fruits for which the Land of Israel
is known. Around this time of year the fruit sellers stock up on all kinds of fruits and nuts.
Frankly, many of the species available aren't the ones mentioned in the Torah
(Deuteuronomy 8:8), but people take this opportunity to buy all kinds of edibles and to add
them to their Tu B'Shvat festivities.
