Pineappple Upside Down Cake

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

1 pkge cake mix
1 stick margarine (4oz)
1 c. packed br. sugar
1-(20oz) can pineapple slices
maraschino cherry halves

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375F Melt margarine in 13*9*2 in. pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly in pan. Drain pineapple slices. Arrange in sugar mixture. If desired arrange cherry halves around side down also inside each slice. Prepare cake mix according to pkge. directions. Pour batter over fruit. Bake at 375F for 45 – 55 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 min. for topping to set then turn upside down on cookie sheet.
