Sweet and Pungent Sauce

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

3 cups tomato puree
brown sugar substitute to equal ½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup plus 2 tbspns. dehydrated onion flakes
¼ cup plus 2 tbspns. soy sauce
1 tbspn. plus 2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
¾ medium pineapple, grated

Directions: Combine tomato puree, brown sugar substitute, onion flakes, soy sauce, Worchestershire sauce, and mustard in a saucepan. Simmer 10 minutes. Add grated pineapple. Cook 2 minutes longer. Divide evenly over portions of chicken, fish, pork, or veal. Makes 6 servings, about ½ cup each.
