Simple and Delicious Cabbage Soup

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

1 cabbage, grated
1 onion, diced
1 can tomato paste
water
salt, to taste
¾ stick of margarine
½ cup flour
Sugar

Directions: Grate cabbage, dice onion, and place in 4 to 6-quart pot. Add tomato paste and enough water to cover cabbage. Add salt and margarine.

While soup is coming to a boil, make a thin paste by putting approximately ½ cup of flour in a bowl and very slowly adding water. Mixture should be smooth. Add to boiling soup and put in a small amount of sugar. Lower flame and let simmer 1/1/2 – 2hrs. Serves 8 – 10.
