Sour Cherry Soup

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

1 can of pitted sour cherries
5 cups of water
2 tablespoons of sugar
½ teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of cornstarch or flour

Directions: In a pot boil for 10 minutes the cherries, water, sugar, and salt. Make a paste of the cornstarch or flour and a little cold water. Gradually add to soup and boil five minutes more. Serve with blobs of sour cream.
