| Some years ago, I underwent a Modern-Orthodox conversion in Israel.
There, we were taught to condemn behaviour, not people.
What Rabbi Ralbag signed, is exactly according to what I was taught.
I am rather shocked and ashamed not just by the community leaders\' reactions, but also by the intensity of the negative feelings aimed at Rabbi Ralbag. According to some messages he even fears for his life should he come to the Netherlands.
Surely this is no way for Jews to behave! May Hashem help us create the unity we need to bring Moshiach, and may he protect Rav Ralbag, his family and all those who cling to Torah and halachah. |

| Rabbi Ralbag has said that he was not aware that his (part-time) function as a Chief Rabbi in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, had been added under his signature. He might well have been been more careful than that, however. This is because, so far, the matter of homosexuality has not in any way been a subject of public debate or controversy, within the Amsterdam, orthodox Jewish community. It may be added that it is the point of view of the Board of this community that they have no business with what their members are doing behind their front doors. This is a point of view to which I, as a member of that community, subscribe. |

| I personally know over 20 formerly gay people and three who are married or engaged.
There are people who put in the work, who wanted to change. For some of them had they given up after a short attempt would not have been successful. It took 4 years for some – just like the struggle for alcoholism or any other difficult issue.

| The rabbi had no other choice. The scriptures are clear that Homosexuality is a choice, a behavior and and a sin. Judism, Christianity and Islam all see it the same. The difference is Christians and Jews still love the Homo and wish to help them change and the Muslim hangs. I have worked with, worked for and had Homosexuals as friends and employees but it doesn\'t change their standing in the cosmos. The Creator aka God says it is wrong behavior so it is wrong behavior. States can pass laws and crusify the messengers of God but it changes nothing and it is a disservice to Homosexuals not to mention it. If I offend you by stopping your vehicle to tell you the bridge ahead is out, am I wrong slowed your journey??????? |
