Aaron Parry is an American synagogue rabbi, counter-missionary expert, and author of several beginners books on Judaism. Rav Parry currently teaches at Shalhevet High School in Los Angeles, and a few days each season, since 2000, he sets up and manages a kosher food stand at Dodger Stadium.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
August 2004 to Present.
Mashgiach Ruchani and Talmud Instructor at ShalhevetHigh School. Teaching
fulltime and counseling students in both personal and religious issues.
September 2000 to June 2004.
Education Director for Westcoast branch of Jews for Judaism. Duties included exit-counseling for Jewish people involved with Christian and messianic movements and certain cults. Arranged lectures and seminars as well as wrote extensive responses to queries related to Judaism.
November 1999 to August 2000.
Served as Kashrus Supervisor for the Star-K organization on the Westcoast.
September 1993 to October 1999.
Served as pulpit rabbi of the Young Israel of Beverly Hills. Instituted guest-lecture series, single-events, and Shabbos Across America program. Duties included everything associated with a pulpit rabbi.
September 1991 to June 1999.
Fulltime Talmud and Halacha rebbe at ValleyTorahHigh School.
PUBLICATIONS
Author of The Complete Idiot's to the Talmud and Complete Idiot's Guide to Hebrew Scriptures. He has written Jewish related articles for a number of local Jewish newspapers. He has been published in the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Jerusalem Post, and New England Journal of Medicine.
