A suspect has been arrested in the murder of a missing 9-year-old Chassidic boy in Brooklyn. His name has not been released.leiby kletzky

Young Leibel Kletzky didn't show up to meet his mother after being allowed to walk home by himself for the first time from day camp Monday afternoon.

His mother was to meet him three blocks away from his house, a seven block walk from the school in which the camp is held.

A massive search by authorities and thousands of volunteers from as far away as Monsey, turned up nothing.

But a raid on a home in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Kensington finally led police to the 35-year-old bearded suspect and the sad remains. Two other people were taken out of the home, but are not being held at this time, according to ABC News.

The child's severed feet were found in the suspect's freezer, according to sources quoted by The New York Post, as well as three knives in a butcher's block.

The suspect then led the police detectives and FBI agents to a dumpster outside an auto repair shop some two miles away, where other parts of the child's body were stuffed in a suitcase.

Sources said he was located by tracking credit card transactions and video surveillance. The video clips showed young Lieby walking behind a bearded man on 45th Street and Dahill Road. It is believed that he may have gotten into a gold-colored car.

A gold-colored car was also parked in front of the bearded suspect's home at East 2nd Street and Avenue C. Witnesses said police searched the vehicle meticulously.

Social networks were buzzing over the tragedy, as was every single neighborhood in the city.

"There are no words for this tragedy," wrote one woman on a Facebook page. "Please... G-d help the family cope!!!" prayed another. "In shock, grief and outrage to hear the news," commented Malka Shaw, a social worker in the greater New York area.

"In the last two days we saw thousands of people with extreme kindness searching for this boy without sleep," observed Chassidic comedian Mendy Pellin, who added, "and one monster of pure evil!"

"Hard to reconcile this horrific case with a real need to, yes, let an eager nine or 10 year old walk a few blocks by himself," commented Mayer Fertig, a producer for radio personality Nachum Segal's New York-area JM in the AM program on WFMU.
