The Central Bureau of Statistics today reported a 6% drop in tourist entries (including one-day entries) to 217,000 visitors in January 2013 from 231,000 entries in January 2012. The number of tourist fell 11% from January last year to 168,000 tourists in January, but the number of one-day entries rose 18% to 49,000. There were 22,000 visits by cruise passengers in January, 58% more than in the corresponding month, and the number of one-day tourists arriving by air rose by 13% to 2,600. However, the number of one-day entries by tourists from neighboring countries fell by 3% to 25,000 in January.
