The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 1.2% to 1,272.25 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 1.1% to 1,172.9 points, and the Tel-Tech Index rose 1.1% to 231.50 points. Turnover was NIS 2 billion.
The Tel Aviv 25 Index set another all-time record today, the second time this week it closed at a record high. The index drove higher most of the day, and closed at its high for the day.
The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 1.2% for the week, after rising 3.3% last week.
Gazit-Globe Ltd. (TASE: GLOB) rose a strong 3.6%, despite no news from the company.
Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) was a main focus of investor interest today, rising 1.1%, on the day's highest turnover of NIS 117 million. Reports of a huge deal by a rival for 3.1 million tons of potash boosted the sector.
The energy sector also received a lift, as the Ministry of National Infrastructures announced new regulations for transferring licenses. Isramco Ltd. (Nasdaq: ISRL; TASE: ISRA.L) rose 3.5%. Modiin Energy LP (TASE:MDIN.L) rose 4.5%.
Delek Real Estate Ltd. (TASE: DLKR rose 2.1%, after reporting the sale of a building in London.
Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX) fell 3.5% after guidance it issued yesterday pointed to lower gross profit next quarter.
Tower Semiconductor (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM) rose 1% on a report of a deal said to be worth $3-5 million per year.
In the bond market, long-term Shahar bonds fell up to 0.1%, and long term CPI-linked Galil bonds ranged between losses of 0.1% and gains of 0.1%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 60 Index rose 0.2%.
In the foreign currency market, the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate fell 0.25% to NIS 3.61/$, but the shekel-euro representative exchange rate rose 1.09% to NIS 5.0643/euro.
