The IDF fired at thousands of Palestinian demonstrators, some of them infiltrating Israeli territory from Syria near Majdal Shams on the Golan Heights. Initial reports claim that at least four infiltrators were killed and dozens wounded. Some infiltrators entered the Druze town of Majdal Shams, apparently with the support of local residents.

The IDF has declared Majd el Shams a closed military area and repelled hundreds of demonstrators, Palestinian refugees living in Syria, who reached the border in an organized convoy of buses carrying Syrian flags.

During Nakba Day demonstrations, there were reports that IDF fire killed four rioters on the Lebanese border.

The IDF spokesman said that the clashes on Israel's northern border were an Iranian provocation.

There were also stormy demonstrations in eastern Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza, to mark Nakba Day. In the Gaza Strip, Palestinians attempting to lay an explosive device by the border fence were shot by IDF troops.
