Traffic congestion alerts from Google Traffic are now available in Israel, along with 12 other countries. The service is available on both computers and smartphones.

Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG) launched Google Traffic in the US in 2008, and is now available in 27 countries worldwide following the latest launches. Traffic congestion is show via color displays, updated every 5-10 minutes.

Google Traffic also lists speed limits on various roads, sends alerts on traffic incidents, and can provide traffic statistics on some roads to make advance trip planning possible.
