Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reiterated his past calls for Israel's destruction, calling the Jewish state "a cancer cell."

Speaking at Friday prayers on International al-Quds Day, an annual ahmadinejad fingersanti-Israel commemoration marked by the Iranian regime, Ahmadinejad urged Palestinians not to settle for a state beside Israel.

"Recognizing the Palestinian state is not the last goal. It is only one step forward towards liberating the whole of Palestine," Ahmadinejad told worshippers at Tehran University, according to The Jerusalem Post.

"The Zionist regime is a center of microbes, a cancer cell and if it exists in one iota of Palestine it will mobilize again and hurt everyone," he said.

Anti-Israel rallies were held across Iran. Acording to Iranian state television, millions attended the events.
