| Folks, this is much-ado-about-nothing!
NO ONE can pray a dead person into Heaven! They had their chance when they were alive! Once dead, they\'re either \"Smoking or Non-Smoking\" and NO amount of prayer or rituals is going to get them moved from once place or another!
As for the departed praying for us in Heaven: Show that to me in the Bible!! It\'s NOT there! Any other \"scripture\" is MAN-MADE and completely worthless and a lie!
In fact, the Bible says, \"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.\" (Revelation 22:18)
Either you believe the Bible in its entirety, OR you risk the above!
We, \"Bible believing Christians\", all know these rituals to be false! The Bible also says not to argue with a non-believer! It\'s not going to win them over and it\'s only going to make YOU look stupid! |

| I am a Jew and find both my fellow Jews\' anguish and the Mormon posthumous baptism of Jews and other human beings absurd: just tell the Mormons that their silly practice is meaningless and laugh at them for doing it. |
| They \'baptize \' everyone |

| Mormons are not Christians. They follow Joseph Smith and deny the Trinity. They are closer to Muslims in what they believe than to Christians. They have a new prophet, a new book, polygamy, etc. Their baptism is into Mormonism and not into Jesus the Messiah. I have some , very distant, Mormon relatives. They have probably baptized my and my family and I am a Christian preacher. Ignore them. It is of no consequence. God knows better than their silly rituals. There really is no point in being offended. They won\'t stop doing it. Do bears c**p in the woods? Is the Pope a Catholic? It\'s what Mormons do. They \'baptize\' the dead. Baptism is a ritual immersion based on the Jewish Mikvah. It\'s not actually possible to baptize the dead. They are deluded. Mitt Romney probably doesn\'t believe it, but Mormons, like Muslims, are in the Hotel California. You can check out amytime you like, but you can never leave. |

| Why fret about what is done after death? Baptism is never by proxy. The living person accepts or rejects submission to Yahshua the messiah. |

| After reading Anne\'s diary when I was 12, I wrote mine to her. After several years as a Catholic, I cherish the ability to pray for those who have passed one, and love the idea even more that they may be praying for me. With that in mind, I would suggest we ask the newly-minted \"Mormon\" Anne if she could do us all a favor, and haunt Mitt Romney!!! Something tells me she\'s got the sense of humor for it!!!
PS: Dear Anne, I so look forward to meeting you in heaven. |

| I fail to see how this is anything but an exercise in futility for the Mormons. Anne Frank was a Jew and she made her choice when she died as a Jew in a Nazi death camp.
Nothing the Mormons do can change Anne\'s life. Anne Frank is not a Mormon, she was born and died a Jew.
I will add that Mormons ought to show proper respect for the dead and allow them to rest in peace. |

| This is riduculous.
Baptism in any matter is an outward expression of faith & belief in the 1 TRUE GOD OF THE JEW & CHRISTIAN!
& as for the practice of praying for the dead that catholics prerfom, it is also an exercise in futility.
Once a person dies they have sealed their destiny, & no amount of prayers is going to change where they spend eternity! |

| As a person of Jewish heritage I am saddened by this. As a \"mormon\" I can\'t help but question the timing of these revelations, given that Mitt Romney is in some political race. However, let me just say that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (AKA Mormons) do in fact believe in Christ. We ARE Christians (hence the full name of the church). Joseph Smith is a modern day prophet but he is not the corner stone to the faith and we do NOT worship Joseph Smith. We do not practice polygamy. We are nothing like Muslims. We actually do fully believe that Jews ARE G-d\'s chosen people and that the covenants He made with the Jews are still in place today! We are yet to put forward the name of my Jewish great grandfather for this reason. I believe the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have every intention of honouring the agreement they made many years ago to not systematically baptise Jewish holocaust victims as a matter of course. However, I do think they need to tighten up their screening practices to ensure that the names of holocaust victims are only submitted by relatives and not by fanatical members! |
| Mormons and Anne Frank NOT TRUE |

By: Sheila |
| This is not true and is racist to suggest it is. As a Jew I am offended. Please read the Statement by the LDS
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following statement today in response to news media requests regarding prominent Jewish names that were entered into the Church\'s genealogical database:
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that they may be baptized by proxy for deceased ancestors who never had that opportunity.
The policy of the Church is that members can request these baptisms only for their own ancestors. Proxy baptisms of Holocaust victims are strictly prohibited.
In this case, the Wiesel family names were not submitted for baptisms but simply entered into a genealogical database. Our system would have rejected those names had they been submitted.
In a few instances, names have been submitted in violation of policy. Whether this is done by simple error or for other reasons, the Church considers these submissions to be a serious breach of protocol.
It is distressing when an individual willfully violates the Church’s policy and something that should be understood to be an offering based on love and respect becomes a source of contention. The Church will continue to do all it can to prevent such instances, including denying access to these genealogical records or other privileges to those who abuse them in this way. |

| Any devout Jew who has ANY dealings or sympathy with Mormons or their doctrine has NO devotion to the God of Israel. Idolatry is why the Jew came under God\'s anger and disciplne. The Tanakh is more than historical narrative. It is written for our instruction TODAY in order that we do not follow in the steps of those who were punished bu YHVH for playing with the enemies of God. We forget His name is jealous. With that said, Mormon doctrine teaches polytheism. Every Mormon will be a god over his own planet and repeat the entire process they believe God did before them. But, Jews are identified by the God of all creation by the sh\'ma. When we welcome Mormon doctrine and their perverse practices such as baptism for the dead, we have deviated from the precious creed; YHVH elohim, YHVH echad! Thus, we are no longer Jews, but just another lost people. Polytheism is not tolerated by YHVH. He remains a jealous God. DO NOT fellowship with Mormons or tolerate their doctrine if you are a Jew. |

| I have a better question. Why do people deliberately do things to cause pain to others? Isn\'t this life hard enough? Why can\'t the Mormons just leave other people alone? No one can tell another person what to believe. Our beliefs are based upon many things, how we were raised, our culture, and our own spiritual experiences (or lack of) with God. Therefore, it is impossible to really \"convert\" someone else. How about the law of kindness and respect instead? |

| The Mormons want a \"one world religion\". They\'ve been doing this for years. Friends of mine in Ut. Bragged about baptising the Kennedys back in the late \'60s. These people think they are the \"chosen\" and actually think everyone else is a \"non-\"Mormon Gentile\". Even a Jew is a Gentile in their holier than thou opinion! |

| I\'m not Jewish nor a Latter Day Saint. I read her Diary and seen the movie. Her story moves me and moved many millions more. Her courage, perseverance, and love during Jews\' most difficult time has been a lesson and expample to many of us. By baptising her they are simply honoring an amazing woman. Tell my why this is wrong. Forgive my ignorance. |

| 1 Corinthians 15:29
1peter 4:5,6
Nothing means more to members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints than the salvation of humankind. We believe all men have the right to choose in matters of faith Viktor frankl, wrote that you could take everything from a man, but that he was still free to choose. We perform proxy baptisms to offer a choice. Nothing we do has the power to compel the recipient to accept these temple ordinances.
It has been made perfectly clear that no one is to do baptisms for hollacost victims.
Tell how is an act of charity twisted into an offense to the dead.
Christ was baptized by John the baptist,a Jew. Is it so strange that something so important to both Jew and Christians in the new testament is important to Mormons,
The half truths contained in some of the posts above are the same type of bigotry that leads to hate mistrust and hollacosts.
We believe that there are multitudes of people who have lived on this earth and would have demonstrated their faith in Christ by being baptized. We do this service for them, for free, with no hope of payment for our efforts.
Who is my neighbor? And if I love him and believe that he needs baptism, how can you fault me for offering it.
If I am wrong,God,not you will judge me.
And if I am right and this is of God would you want to be the one to stand in His way.
Were it not for the loud protests of those who hate us the baptisms would be done in a temple and recorded in a book.
If it is God\'s work, to be acknowledged at the great judgement, and if it is not then just a record that will fade and return to dust.
