Ben Gurion Flight Paths Changed to Avoid Iron Dome

The flight paths for landing and takeoff in Ben Gurion Airport have been altered, because of the activity of the Iron Dome anti-missile battery in Tel Aviv.

The flight paths for landing and takeoff in Ben Gurion Airport have been altered, because of the activity of the Iron Dome anti-missile battery in Tel Aviv.

The Civilian Aviation Authority (CAA) carried out the changes out of concern that planes could inadvertently be hit by the Iron Dome missiles.

Timetables for flights in and out of Israel have not been affected.

CAA head, Maj. Gen. Giora Rom, explained that the diverting of the flight paths was carried out in an orderly fashion, and that all the relevant bodies were notified.

"We do not publish announcements," he said. "We informed those who needed to know. I do not think that a person flying to Israel cares where he approaches the landing from."
